Can you provide an overview of your company and what motivated its establishment?

ChromaWay was established in 2014, driven by the development of our relational blockchain model, Postchain, tailored for private enterprise blockchain applications.

Since its inception, the company has experienced significant growth, both in team size and vision. Alongside our enterprise solutions offered through ChromaWay, we have introduced Chromia, a public platform with a rapidly expanding ecosystem.

Our mission revolves around delivering user-friendly blockchain applications that generate tangible societal value. We aim to foster transparency, enhance efficiency, and combat exploitation through innovative, transparent systems.

What products or services does ChromaWay offer, and what sets them apart from others in the market?

ChromaWay’s primary focus is on Chromia, our public blockchain protocol. What distinguishes our platform is its unique integration of blockchain security with the robust data handling capabilities and flexibility of a relational database. Unlike many existing blockchains that struggle with inefficiencies in data storage and handling, Chromia is designed to seamlessly support large-scale applications such as online banking and social media, which heavily rely on database functionality.

Additionally, we employ an innovative consensus model that eliminates the need for mining, significantly reducing energy consumption and minimizing our blockchain’s carbon footprint.

Furthermore, we are preparing to introduce Originals, our NFT protocol, which stands out from others in the market due to its dynamic, evolvable, mutable, attachable, and nearly gas fee-free features.

Tell us about your team.

ChromaWay’s team has evolved from its modest beginnings to a global workforce of over 150 individuals located across the world. With representation from more than 20 different nationalities and proficiency in over 30 languages, our team is incredibly diverse and brings a wide range of perspectives to the table.

Brief us about your professional background.

My professional journey shares common elements with many success stories. It’s been a path marked by focus, hard work, the transition to working smarter, and the pursuit of meaningful change. Beginning my career as a field engineer in the oil and gas sector, I honed my communication skills amidst a diverse array of colleagues, navigating differences in profession, skill set, education, culture, and gender dynamics prevalent in the industry.

However, as time passed, I found myself yearning for a sense of connection with my broader aspirations of making a positive impact on the world. This led me to transition into the tech industry, where I founded a travel tech venture that later transitioned into a fintech company, immersing me in the realm of finance and eventually leading me to the burgeoning field of blockchain in 2015.

Today, serving as the Chief Solutions Officer at ChromaWay, I leverage my experience as a blockchain solution architect to design innovative solutions across various industries. Additionally, I have the privilege of contributing as a lecturer and researcher in blockchain adoption at Halmstad University in South Sweden.

What significant milestones have you achieved in your business journey?

My most notable accomplishment is the sense of self-assurance and empowerment I’ve gained, knowing that I’m on the right path. Additionally, I take pride in being a resilient and empowered mother, raising a daughter who embodies those same qualities.

Furthermore, I’ve received recognition for my contributions in the tech and blockchain space, being named among the “21 Women in Blockchain You Should Know” by FintechReview in 2021, and recognized as one of the “Top 10 Influential Women in Technology” by AnalyticsInsight in the same year. Additionally, I was honored to be listed among the “Top 50 Most Influential Women on LinkedIn” in 2019.

Are there any noteworthy projects you’d like to highlight?

One exciting project worth mentioning is My Neighbour Alice, a blockchain-based game that I’ve been involved with. The concept of My Neighbour Alice was born in 2020, with the ALICE token launching on Binance in March 2021.

The game aims to offer an open-world multiplayer builder experience akin to ‘Animal Crossing’, catering to casual players with its whimsical aesthetic, streamlined UI, and mobile integration.

Development has been ongoing since 2021, and we anticipate the release of the first alpha season in Q2 of this year. With an expanded development and operations team, we’ve recently unveiled a new roadmap, signaling our commitment to delivering a blockchain game that appeals to both crypto and non-crypto users alike.
