Initial Challenges Faced: 

The initial challenge for Impulse4women was focusing solely on Spain for its operations. However, to effectively reach a wider audience of female entrepreneurs, they recognized the need to expand globally, reaching out to Europe, the USA, and Canada. By networking extensively and forming partnerships with public and private international organizations, they successfully broadened their reach. Additionally, developing a suitable platform for matching startups with investors presented another early hurdle, which they addressed through careful planning and execution.

Triggering Growth: 

In 2017, Impulse4women identified a significant gap in the market with females not receiving adequate recognition. Recognizing this opportunity, they initiated discussions with startups to introduce a new marketplace connecting them with investors. The enthusiastic response from startups seeking assistance signaled a promising opportunity for growth. During the COVID-19 pandemic in March/April 2020, Impulse4women observed increased engagement and interest from startups, further validating their growth potential.

Evolution of Company Graphs: 

Since its inception, Impulse4women has cultivated an ecosystem comprising 10,000 startups led by females in the technology sector, along with projects led by both genders in social impact initiatives. The company aims to expand its network to include 1,400 investors, illustrating its trajectory of growth and impact.

By requiring startups and investors to complete a comprehensive form upon joining the platform, Impulse4women ensures effective matching based on relevant criteria, minimizing time wastage and fostering meaningful connections.

Impulse4women operates both online and offline, providing a range of services tailored to empower female entrepreneurs in the technology sector and support social impact projects. Our offerings include webinar sessions, podcasts, mentoring sessions, pitching sessions, online and offline events, and grant communications. We collaborate closely with public and private organizations to provide start-ups on our platform with comprehensive support for achieving success.

How do you decide to take the company a step further in terms of your products/services?

Impulse4women observes significant growth in the industry globally and recognizes the market’s demand for a streamlined platform for investors to discover female-led tech start-ups and social impact projects. To address this, in 2022, the company plans to introduce academic courses tailored for aspiring female investors, accessible through its website, with plans for additional courses in the pipeline. Additionally, Impulse4women aims to enhance its platform by fostering growth on both the start-up and investor sides, thereby creating a more diverse ecosystem to improve success rates.

Could you provide an overview of your professional background?

Certainly. I commenced my career in private banking back in 2000. Subsequently, in 2011, I established Pluribus United Foundations, collaborating with 15 private foundations to synergize efforts. Transitioning to mentorship, I engaged in mentoring businesses through Startup-Bootcamp. In 2016, I assumed the role of Investor Relations Director at THCAP Venture Capital. The inception of Impulse4women stems from my amalgamation of passion for mentorship and investment endeavors.

What are the key achievements of your entrepreneurial journey? 

One significant achievement is witnessing the tangible impact of our work at Impulse4women. We’ve facilitated investment opportunities for startups through our platform connections, demonstrating the effectiveness of our networking efforts. Additionally, our mentoring sessions have proven invaluable, enabling startups to avoid common pitfalls and accelerate their growth.

How do you look after your employees? What makes your team unique? 

A: At Impulse4women, we prioritize our employees’ well-being and professional development. We offer them opportunities to learn and engage in various projects, fostering a culture of continuous growth. Despite being a startup, we ensure that every team member has the chance to contribute across different facets of the business, from client interactions to marketing initiatives. This inclusive approach keeps our team engaged and motivated, fostering a sense of ownership and collaboration.

Is there any special experience with your clients you would like to highlight? 

Rather than a specific experience, I’d emphasize the unique relationships we’ve built with our clients. Understanding their needs and aspirations is paramount for us, as we strive to provide them with opportunities to advance in their entrepreneurial journeys. By listening attentively to our clients and delivering on their requests, we aim to empower them to take the next step toward success. Leveraging insights from my background as an investor, we’re adept at identifying both the challenges and strengths within the sector, enabling us to provide startups with value-added support tailored to their specific requirements.

Constant vigilance – a necessity or a tactic? Please share your perspective.

Vigilance is undoubtedly a necessity because without ongoing monitoring of our actions, we risk deviating from our goals without even realizing it until it’s too late. While having a solid strategy is crucial for building a project, continuously assessing and reassessing our strategy ensures that we stay on course and remain aligned with our objectives.

How do you manage to navigate the competitive landscape?

I embrace competition as a positive force. It indicates that our endeavors are meaningful and relevant in the market. Rather than being intimidated by the rat race, I view competitors as catalysts for innovation. They inspire us to enhance the value proposition of our offerings, driving us to strive for excellence and distinguish ourselves as leaders in the industry.
